Product Details

Components: Adjustable aiming rod, cross nail, lateral bracket

Material: PEEK5600CF30 (30% carbon fiber reinforced)

Forming process: Profile machining

Features and advantages

The overall structure of the femur and the distal tibia aiming frame is generally large. If metal is used, it will be particularly heavy, which is very inconvenient for doctors to operate. Using PEEK material can reduce the weight by 80%, greatly lowering the weight of the instrument and greatly improving the portability and flexibility of doctors' operations.

2: The distal end of the extended intramedullary nail usually undergoes certain deformation within the pulp cavity. Due to the light-transmitting property of PEEK, the adjustable structure combined with the PEEK developing rod enables more precise and flexible positioning and aiming at the distal end.

Disadvantage

Heat treatment of the material should be carried out in several stages before and during processing. Eliminate the internal stress of the material in time to avoid deformation after processing.

The processing of 30% carbon fiber reinforced PEEK is somewhat challenging. Besides causing significant wear on the cutting tools, it also has high requirements for the process. An unreasonable process can easily lead to processing deformation and inability to aim.

The size of the far end positioning frame of the adjustable aiming rod is too long, with a deviation of nearly 0.05mm after 100 disinfection cycles. It is recommended to switch to CF-PEEK sheet processing.
